In Reply.—

We sent you this article because we considered the subject to be of utmost importance for dermatologists and almost nothing on this subject could be found in the dermatology literature.

Parts of it have been published in the journal Human Toxicology in England, as can be read in our bibliography. However, that journal is published for a totally different group of readers, consisting of specialists in toxicology and occupational medicine. Therefore, in the article in Human Toxicology the accent had been laid on the systemic effects. In the article we wrote for the ARCHIVES, we have especially emphasized the course, aspect, and histopathologic features of the skin lesions. We have also selected other photographs (in color) to show the dermatologic effects as clearly as possible.

We agree that there are similarities between both articles. But a certain overlap could not be avoided completely because the same six patients were described. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
