REPORT OF A CASE

A 27-year-old man presented with flesh-colored papules on the face. The lesions were asymptomatic and of cosmetic concern only. His family history was positive in that his father, two sisters, a brother, and two paternal cousins had similar facial lesions to varying degrees. The lesions had first appeared during his teenage years. The patient was otherwise healthy.

Physical examination revealed multiple firm, fleshcolored, 2- to 3-mm (in diameter) papules on the fore- head, cheeks, and chin. There was predominant involvement of the midface, where the lesions had a tendency to coalesce (Fig 1). The scalp was clear, oral mucosa and dentition were normal, and the remainder of the cutaneous examination was unremarkable.

A shave biopsy specimen is shown in Figs 2 and 3.
