REPORT OF A CASE

A healthy 60-year-old man presented with an 8-week history of a rapidly enlarging lesion on the instep of his right foot, just distal to the heel. A shiny, erythematous, and ulcerated vascular tumor measuring 1 cm in diameter with a well-defined edge was present (Fig 1). Surrounding the larger lesion were three smaller shiny nodules, which were also red but had not ulcerated. Immediately above the tumor was an irregular atrophic area said to be due to a childhood accident. No popliteal or inguinal lymph nodes were palpable. The lesion was excised. Four weeks later, the wound had almost healed, and the patient became unavailable for follow-up.

Four years and two months later, he was again referred with an identical lesion of 6 weeks' duration. The tumor was located in exactly the same anatomic site as the original tumor. On this occasion, a shiny, ulcerated bleeding . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
