To the Editor.—
Eccrine sweat gland carcinomas represent a diversified group of rare and morphologically heterogeneous neoplasms of skin eccrine sweat glands that display some potential for distant metastasis.1-3 Due to an extraordinary degree of clinical and histopathologic variation,3 the identification of these tumors is, at times, difficult.
Surgery is the main therapeutic procedure. Chemotherapy or radiotherapy are alternative treatments for metastatic disease.4,5 However, their therapeutic potential remains questionable.4,5 We report the successful treatment of multiple cutaneous metastases of a malignant eccrine poroma using interferon alfa in combination with interleukin 2.
