Treatment With Natural Interferon Alfa Using a Needleless Injector

REPORT OF CASES

CASE 1.—

A 12-year-old white girl was brought to the office by her father for evaluation of two warts on her right (dominant) hand. These had been present for 6 weeks, but her father noted that over the past 2 weeks the size of the warts had rapidly increased. No treatment had been initiated at home. Her medical history was unremarkable, and there was no family history of warts. Physical examination revealed an 8X6-mm verruca on the palmar aspect of the right index finger at the distal interphalangeal joint. The second lesion, located on the palmar aspect of the right third finger, measured 2X2 mm. The patient was a pitcher for a championship girls, softball team. She stated clearly that she would not undergo treatment that might interfere with her pitching, even for a day, over the next 8-week period.
