TUBERCULOSIS CUTIS VERRUCOSA. Presented by DR. FEIT.
L. N., a colored boy, aged 16, was admitted to the New York Skin and Cancer Hospital on May 23, 1928, with a granulomatous, fungating, slightly tender mass involving the lower lip and chin and extending for about 5 cm. beneath the chin. There was considerable purulent exudate. The lesion had first appeared three years before admission to the hospital and had extended gradually up to the time of admission.
Two examinations of pus pockets for tinea and blastomycetes gave negative results. Cultures were likewise negative. The Wassermann test of the blood was negative. There was no gel formation after the addition of formaldehyde in the blood serum. Two biopsies taken showed a dense infiltration of islands of endotheloid cells associated with giant cells of the Langhan's type scattered throughout the corium and extending into the fatty tissue; areas of lymphocytes scattered throughout
