This work is really a treatise on skin diseases from the standpoint of their manifestations in childhood. It is a concise, clear and interesting presentation of the subject. One has a relatively easy task to give a description of a dermatosis if the space is unlimited, but it is a very much more difficult thing to give an adequate presentation in limited space. Fox's good style has served him well in this understanding, and this, with a comprehensive knowledge of dermatology, has enabled him to cover his topics briefly as well as satisfactorily. His attitude is orthodox, conservative and practical. Throughout the book one finds many useful, practical suggestions. On an occasional point the reviewer would differ from him, as, for example, in his confidence in vaccines for boils. Of course, the pictures are excellent.
