REPORT OF SIX CASES

There have appeared in the literature from time to time reports of a dermatosis which in some ways resembles erythema multiforme, but the course of which varies considerably. These cases also present a number of analogies to granuloma annulare, urticaria and dermatitis herpetiformis.

We have observed at the New York Skin and Cancer Hospital six of these cases which appear to fall into the group first called by Colcott Fox erythema figuratum perstans, and more recently by Darier érythème annulaire centrifuge. A number of cases undoubtedly belonging to this group have also been reported under other names, but the term used by Darier has recently been the most generally accepted and seems to describe the condition best, as we shall show later.
