NEVOCARCINOMA OF THE LEFT THIGH. Presented by DR. ROLLIN H. STEVENS.
The patient, an Italian girl, aged 4 years, was first observed in 1929, at the age of 4 months, with a tumor 10 cm. in diameter which involved the entire left thigh, the vulva and the lower left quadrant of the abdomen and extended to the right side of the abdomen. The left leg was swollen to twice the normal size. The lesion was dark purplish brown, the portion on the abdomen being purple, and it was growing rapidly. It had been present at birth as a small purplish lesion in the middle of the left thigh. A specimen was taken for biopsy, and the removal of the specimen was followed by severe bleeding due to the great vascularity of the lesion.
