A CASE FOR DIAGNOSIS (RHINOPHYMA-LIKE ENLARGEMENT OF THE NOSE; SARCOID?). Presented by DR. THOMAS H. MILLER.
R. C., a Negro aged 30, married, born in Georgia, complains of enlargement of the tip of the nose. The patient's father, mother, wife and children are living and well.
The patient was first seen in 1933; at that time he had a generalized lymphadenitis. A diagnosis of tuberculosis was made, being based on the results of biopsy. There was no evidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. He also presented a bluish red lesion on the nares which had appeared after squeezing of a pimple. A diagnosis of rosacea was made; that of an angiolupoid was also considered. The patient was not seen again until today. There is a large bluish red infiltrated soft and bulbous lesion at the tip of the nose with rather indistinct borders which fade into the normal skin. No
