Acrodermatitis Chronica Atrophicans (Preatrophic Boggy Infiltrations). Presented by DR. FRED WISE.

Miss G. R., aged 45, a bacteriologist, first noticed red, elevated, soft swellings of the legs one and a half years ago. She states that they appeared after exposure to severe cold weather. There were no subjective symptoms.

Examination on July 15, 1937, showed a group of dusky red, infiltrated, slightly elevated, somewhat elastic lesions on the left leg and the right thigh. These swellings were from the size of a dime to that of a silver quarter; the edges were ill defined and merged with the normal skin. Similar lesions in much smaller numbers were present on the right thigh. The right leg exhibited no inflammatory lesions, but there was a suggestion of atrophic skin, with prominent superficial veins.
