ASSEMBLY OF LABORATORY DIRECTORS AND SEROLOGISTS
An assembly of laboratory directors and serologists will be held under the auspices of the committee on evaluation of serodiagnostic tests for syphilis, with Surgeon General Thomas Parran chairman, on Oct. 21 and 22, 1938, at Hot Springs National Park, Ark. All workers from private, hospital and public health laboratories, as well as physicians and health officers interested in the control of syphilis, are invited.
The purpose of the assembly will be to consider methods of improving and making more generally available the serologic tests for syphilis. Tentative arrangements include a program in four sections.
The first section will consider the need for adherence to conventional technic in the routine performance of reliable serodiagnostic tests. The need for training of laboratory personnel will be the subject discussed by the second section. The third section will discuss studies to evaluate the performance of serologic tests
