Macular Atrophy, Secondary to Syphilis. Presented by DR. SAMUEL FELDMAN.

N. B., a Negress aged 24, had a genital chancre in 1932. This was followed in about three weeks by a secondary eruption which involved mainly the trunk. The eruption cleared up in about two months, owing to mercury rubs. The patient received no other treatment until October 1936. At the Vanderbilt Clinic a Wassermann test gave a positive result. She was treated with neoarsphenamine and a bismuth preparation for five months and was transferred to the Morrisania Hospital. She states that the condition for which she is presented was not present before the syphilitic infection but followed directly after the disappearance of the secondary eruption.
