Epidermolysis Bullosa Acquisita. Presented by DR. CHARLES PINES.

S. B., a woman aged 55, born in Poland, was seen on March 1, 1939, complaining of sores on the tongue, fingers and soles. The lesions appeared first about six months ago, on the buttocks, and healed spontaneously in a short time. Since then numerous vesicles and bullae have appeared on different parts of the body. The patient states that irritation or trauma preceded the appearance of many lesions on sites likely to be subjected to friction. No members of her family have ever been similarly affected.

There are three hemorrhagic bullae on the right border of the tongue, a ruptured bulla on the left buccal mucosa and a bulla on the left ring finger. On the extensor surfaces of the forearms and on the dorsa of the hands are numerous grouped milia-like cysts. Pigmentation and atrophy are present on both elbows . . .
