Dermatology has recently been honored by the election of Dr. C. Guy Lane as secretary of the Advisory Board of Medical Specialties. All of the candidates who have taken the examination of the American Board of Dermatology and Syphilology recognize the kindness and courtesy that have invariably been shown them by Dr. Lane as secretary of this board. Few of them realize the value of his tireless efforts in raising the standards of graduate education in this specialty. Every one who has served as a member of the board, however, appreciates not only his friendly personality and the immense amount of time he has given to details but also his constructive ideas which have contributed so greatly to the success and smooth running of the board.
