Dermatitis Venenata (Due to Underwear Shorts). Presented by DR. JOSEPH L. MORSE.

J. P., a man aged 41, presented from the Skin and Cancer Unit of the New York Post-Graduate Medical School and Hospital, has an eruption involving the penis, scrotum, buttocks and thighs of one month's duration. The patient had bought eight pairs of new underwear shorts, and after wearing four pairs in a period of ten days he noticed itching of the penis. He continued to wear the underwear, and the penis and the scrotum soon became swollen, while the skin on the buttocks and the thighs was red and pruritic. On admission to the clinic on Sept. 13, 1940, he presented a dermatitis with severe swelling of the scrotum and penis and erythema of the buttocks, thighs and hips.
