In the eleventh edition of this well known standard text extensive changes have been made, nearly every topic having been at least partly revised and some entirely rewritten. The authors appreciated how difficult it is for one or two persons to cover such a broad field as pediatrics. They have therefore secured the collaboration of thirty-four experts in different phases of the subject. The various sections of the book are, however, not written as independent articles in which conflicting views might be expressed.

Considerable space has been allotted to diseases of the skin, including 33 pages on fifty separate diseases and 15 pages on eczema and a few other diseases of the skin which are classed as allergic in origin. A general discussion of syphilis, and of the congenital type in particular, is given in 32 pages. The reader will also find much of dermatologic interest scattered through the book, . . .
