Since the publication of papers by Barber¹ and Ingram² in 1930 and Wrong³ in 1933, numerous cases of pustular psoriasis have been encountered and recognized.

Psoriasis vulgaris is uncommon in Negroes. Both Fox⁴ and Hazen⁵ observed large series of Negro patients with cutaneous diseases other than syphilis. They found that psoriasis vulgaris was present in less than 1 per cent of their cases. Lane and Crawford⁶ in a statistical study of 231 cases of psoriasis included only 1 case of a Negro. In both of these recent surveys no mention is made of pustular psoriasis.

In the following case pustular psoriasis of the palms and soles of a Negress is associated with psoriasis vulgaris of the usual sites. It appears that no other similar case has been reported.
