Generalized Dermatophytosis (Probably Due to Trichophyton Purpureum). Presented by DR. SAMUEL AYRES JR., and DR. NELSON PAUL ANDERSON, Los Angeles.
E. L. C., a 55 year old white man, has had an eruption for about one year, during which time he has applied ammoniated mercury ointment and lately a liquid proprietary remedy, without effect.
At present the eruption is widely scattered and covers a large part of the body, including the trunk, arms, legs, neck and ears and to a slight extent the feet and the backs of the hands. It presents an ill defined, mildly erythematous, dry, scaly and almost chapped appearance. In some places the areas are rather sharply marginated. The skin on the lower part of the back is relatively free of eruption.
