A survey of the literature did not disclose any reports of contact dermatitis due to "leg makeup." A case is reported in which a woman had a dermatitis due to leg makeup and in which, with the cooperation of the manufacturer, the particular sensitizer was determined.

REPORT OF A CASE

A white woman aged 25 had used a leg makeup for three weeks, when an acute dermatitis suddenly developed. It extended from the middle of the thighs to the tops of the feet, and it appeared on the back and webs of the right hand. When she was first examined, the eruption was of four days' duration. It consisted of a moderately acute, erythematous, edematous, pruritic, confluent dermatitis.
