A Case for Diagnosis (Lupus Erythematosus? Pellagra?). Presented by DR. ANKER K. JENSEN.

E. M., a Negro woman aged 64 years, presents an eruption of twenty-three years' duration on her face. During the last year a brownish smooth discoloration in the groins has developed. The eruption on the face is symmetric and deeply pigmented. The central part around the nose is darkest. This fades to a lighter pigmentation on the sides of the face. The margins of the tongue are smooth. There is some alopecia at the edges of the scalp hair. The pubic area is almost entirely free of hair. Although there are no excoriations or patches of lichenification, she complains of recurrent attacks of severe itching and burning of the face. The backs of the hands and the upper portion of the chest exposed to view through the V of her dress are not involved.
