BASAL CELL EPITHELIOMA IN A PSORIATIC PATCH

BECAUSE of the rarity of epitheliomatous change developing in psoriatic disease, it is felt that a case recently observed is of interest to report.

REPORT OF A CASE

History.—

A white man aged 43 was first seen on Sept. 29, 1945. He was admitted to the Skin and Cancer Unit of the New York Post-Graduate Medical School and Hospital for treatment of an eruption that involved the scalp, face, trunk, back and legs, which he first noticed at the age of 12. Since its first appearance he had not been free from it for any length of time. At the age of 21 the eruption practically covered the entire face and the trunk, and he received external palliative treatment. The patient was returned from overseas for psychiatric study.
