With the introduction of the use of resin of podophyllum in the treatment of condyloma acuminatum by Kaplan,¹ it was natural that attempts were made to use this agent in the treatment of verruca vulgaris and verruca plana. Culp and Kaplan² stated that 25 per cent resin of podophyllum in liquid petrolatum was of no value in the treatment of "typical horny verrucae." With the exception of 1 instance of multiple warts of the face, which was treated by MacGregor³ with 25 per cent resin of podophyllum in liquid petrolatum, there are no reports of any consistent success with this agent in the treatment of verruca vulgaris or verruca plana situated on the glabrous skin.
