IN RECENT years it has been shown clinically and experimentally1 that miliaria rubra is a phenomenon of sweat retention resulting from hyperkeratotic plugging of the orifices of the sweat glands. The patient whose case we are reporting had generalized miliaria rubra associated with anhidrosis and subnormal absorption and utilization of vitamin A.
REPORT OF A CASE
The patient was a white male physician, 64 yr. old, from Illinois, whose chief complaint was that of generalized pruritus of two-and-a-half years' duration and intolerance to heat of one-year's duration. The generalized pruritus either was more intense during hot weather or was associated with physical exertion.
