DISCUSSION OF TWO PRECEDING CASES

DR. EDWARD L. MURPHY: The woman arrived from another city on Jan. 6 with herpes zoster of three days' duration. Two weeks later varicella developed in the man, her son-in-law.

J. T., a 40-yr.-old white man, has a history of grouped follicopustules around the crotch, axillary areas, and dorsum of the right hand for the past 20 yr. This has never cleared up since the original onset. The beard has never been involved, though there have been repeated flare-ups in the other sites.
