This paper presents an evaluation of the practical importance of touch smears made from specimens taken for biopsy of the skin in cases of suspected cutaneous lymphoblastoma. Wilson¹ reported the value of cutaneous smears as a diagnostic aid in certain malignant lesions of the skin in a series of cases studied at the Mayo Clinic and in an additional group of his own observed later. A brief review of the literature was given in his paper. The aspiration technique described by Swiller and associates² was not employed.

Material and Methods

Studies were made of a series of 19 patients who had lymphoblastoma seen at the Mayo Clinic between the summer of 1953 and the summer of 1955.
