Linear Lichen Planus. Presented by DR. EDWARD L. MURPHY.
A 44-year-old white man presents a pruritic linear eruption,
to 1 in. wide, extending from the sacrosciatic notch to the right heel. The lesion consists of discrete and confluent violaceous papules with a thin glistening scale.
It has been unchanged since inception, for approximately four months.
There are no other lesions.
Biopsy report has not yet been received.
Discussion
DR. WILLIAM B. REED: I suggest that this may be lichen striatus. The important thing for proper diagnosis is the biopsy. Lichen striatus by biopsy shows an eczematous picture.
