The coincidence of lupus erythematosus (L.E.) and psoriasis appears to be a rare event, and only two references have been found in the literature. Christ¹ reported one case, and Schauman² described three patients, in all of whom the psoriasis had been present for many years before the L.E. changes became apparent. Other instances suspected³ turned out to be cases of lichen planus on further observation. We have not been able to find a report of a simultaneous development of these two diseases.

Report of a Case

A 37-year-old woman of English extraction was first seen in November 1957. Her past history included a tonsillectomy in 1930, a short bout of an otitis media in 1937, and a nonicteric hepatitis in 1952.
