Generalized Granuloma Annulare. Presented by DR. H. J. BURSTEIN, Decatur, Ill.

A woman, aged 72, first noticed circular reddened areas about her upper thighs 7 months ago, and the eruption has gradually extended over the thighs, abdomen, chest, arms, and forearms. There has been no antecedent illness or history of medications that could be contributory, and she feels well except for mild itching and concern about the disorder. Weight has been stationary.

These areas show symmetrical, confluent, erythematous papules, with recent antecubital fossae lesions and eczematous patches about the knees mesially. Face, hands, lower legs, and feet are clear. There are no mucosal lesions.

Laboratory Findings.—

Complete blood count, Kahn reaction, urinalysis, tuberculin and histoplasmin tests are negative. Sedimentation rate is elevated, 40 mm. (corrected). Serum proteins 6.7, albumin 4.6, globulin 2.1, A/G ratio 2.2/1. X-ray of chest satisfactory except for atheroscleroses with mild left ventricular enlargement.
