Diagnosis: Generalized Scleroderma or Lichen Sclerosus et Atrophicus. Presented by DR. WILLIAM CURTH and DR. HELEN O CURTH.

A woman, now 46 years of age, was presented by Dr. J. G. Hopkins before the New York Dermatological Society in 1939 as a "Case for Diagnosis: Poikilodermatomyositis?"

The patient was born prematurely after a gestation of but 7 months and then weighed but 3 lb. At the age of 14 years, round, depigmented areas appeared on the flexor surface of the right arm. These rapidly spread and came to involve both arms, legs, midback, shoulders, buttocks, abdomen, and dorsa of feet. At the age of 21 weakness and tiredness in the lower part of the back were noted, and by the age of 23 the patient was unable to walk barefooted. The calves seemed shortened.
