I thought you might be interested in the following report:

An innovation was tried at the Alumni Postgraduate Convention of Loma Linda University at its annual meeting which just terminated March 15 at the Ambassador Hotel here in Los Angeles.

The Dermatology Department of the School of Medicine (formerly College of Medical Evangelists) of Loma Linda University offered dermatology consultations and physicals to the doctors in attendance at the convention.

About 10% of the 840 doctors attending availed themselves of the service, and it was especially appreciated by doctors in isolated areas. Dr. Hildebrand of St. John's, Newfoundland, and Dr. John Libby of Dillingham, Alaska were the most distant registrants at the dermatology booth.

Sixteen of the attending men were able to participate in staffing the booth. No treatment was offered, but cultures and wet mounts for fungi were done. They were made in duplicate and one . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
