With this issue, the Archives of Dermatology initiates a new service to the readers of this publication. Reports of major dermatologic meetings will be offered, so that the reader can get the "meat" of the messages presented at these conclaves months sooner than the original articles can reach these pages. Since dermatology is a dynamic, growing field in an everchanging world, time is important. By the inclusion of this feature, it is hoped at least a portion of the message will reach the practitioner and investigator with the shortest possible time lapse. However, it must be emphasized that the full message and the complete interpretation of the contributions can be gained only by careful perusal of the original unabridged communications which will be published on these pages in the not-too-distant future.
