Scleroderma with Facial Hemiatrophy. Presented by DR. MURRAY C. ZIMMERMAN.

The patient is a female, white, 8 years old.

Present Illness.—

First changes were seen in skin by mother in April, 1961. They were ascribed to a burn by a hair dryer. There was slow progression subsequent to this time. First reddening of the eye was noted about Sept. 10, 1961. There have been no subjective symptoms, no disturbance of general health, and no antecedent illness.

Family History.—Not contributory except that the first-born sib died of spina bifida at the age of 3 months. Five other sibs are living, well, and in good health. There is no consanguinity.

Past History.—

Not contributory.

Physical Examiniation.—

There is a sloping depression involving the right side of the face starting about 3 cm. beyond the midline on the right and extending diffusely lateral from a linear margin beyond that point. There is . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
