Parapsoriasis. Presented by DR. J. HARRY KATZ.

History of Present Illness.—

Patient, age 28, states he first noticed a rash on his buttocks over a year ago. Some of the older lesions have disappeared leaving "brown spots," but new lesions have appeared so that in general the condition looks about the same as when it first appeared. There are no subjective symptoms.

Physical Examination.—

Patient presents many scattered macular and papular lesions—buttocks, trunk area, and flexor surfaces of both forearms. Some of the lesions present circinate outlines. The lesions are slightly scaling. Few scattered lesions (papular) on trunk.

Biopsy.—

Parapsoriasis (consistent with).

Discussion

DR. PERRY M. SACHS: There were 2 slides on this case, and they were taken probably from different areas. Since 1 slide was dry and the other did show definite vesiculation and crusting in the epidermis, I believe this is a case of parapsoriasis. But there . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
