The pediatrician with an interest in caring for dermatologic conditions is fortunate that Leider wrote this book for he is one of the cleverest authors among the dermatologists. This work is written clearly and interestingly and is beautifully produced. The volume contains many innovations including the printing of the principles of local therapy on green pages so that the "reader" can locate this section easily as in the Physician's Desk Reference. There are many paragraphs that consist actually of philosophical essays by the author and these are well conceived and executed. Much valuable information is presented clearly and concisely in tables. The factual information is authoritative, accurate, and helpful in the management of the conditions covered in the text. The main criticism of the book, however, is that it presents only the opinions of the author. In the preface, Leider states, "The fact is I found I could write enough
