History.—

A white man, aged 76 years, was first seen Jan. 29, 1962, complaining of an erythematous eruption over the entire chest and back of an uncertain duration. He knows that in summer when he becomes tanned he is unaware of it. His general health has been excellent except for an infectious hepatitis 6 years ago.

Examination.—

The entire chest from the neck to below the nipple line is covered with numerous telangiectases. The same is true of the back extending down to about the same level as the chest but lower in the center of the back. Complete physical examination is negative with a blood pressure of 152/86 and a pulse rate of 90.

Laboratory.—
