Oddities of hair growth often do not arouse sufficient attention in the patient to ask for medical opinion. They are often an incidental finding in cases of unrelated skin disorders.
However, during the last 4 years we have followed a patient who consulted us because of an unusual hair growth from one elevated site situated on the left cheek. Though we have looked for one, we have not encountered a similar case.
Report of Case
The patient, aged 26, a doctor, consulted us for the first time 4 years ago because of an unusual hair growth which he had noticed 3 years previously. He could not inform us about the exact duration of the inflammation around the hair follicle, but he was sure that it had appeared about the same time as did the hairs.
