ONYCHOMYCOSIS. Presented by DR. VARNEY.
A. S., a man, aged 25, American born, in excellent general health, had first noticed a vesicular eruption between the toes three years previously. The soles and medial surfaces of the feet were subsequently involved, and the toe nails developed a dry, fissured, moth-eaten appearance. About one year previously he had noticed similar alterations of the nails of the right hand, and for the previous six months he had been troubled with a sharply defined vesicular eruption of the genitocrural regions, extending onto the abdomen. There had also appeared a circinate pafch on the flexor surface of the right arm. Organisms of the trichophyton group were found microscopically in all the areas involved. Under treatment all except the nail lesions were rapidly disappearing.
