Synopses of Three Cases of Giant Pigmented Nevi Treated by Excision and Grafting. Presented by DR. ALLYN J. MCDOWELL.

Case 1.—

A 12-year old boy was first seen in 1953 at age of 20 months. The patient presented a giant hairy pigmented nevus circling the lower trunk and upper thighs. Posteriorly the extended upward almost to the lower border of the scapulae. In addition he presented numerous pigmented nevi ranging up to 2 cm in diameter and scattered over most the rest of the body. Staged excision and skin grafting was advised in an attempt to remove most of the giant nevus prior to the time of the child's entry into school. On March 26, 1953, seventeen small nevi were excised and sutured on the back, chest, and lower thighs in order to prepare suitable donor sites for later skin grafting. . . .
