This is a very well-written, complete book on the venereal diseases and conditions from which they have to be differentiated. It includes syphilis, gonorrhea, chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum, granuloma inguinale, nongonococcal urethridides, Reiter's disease, trichomonas, other treponematoses such as yaws and other lesions of the genitalia which must be differentiated plus some explanation of the public health aspect of venereal disease. This, of course, enables anyone interested in the field to get a good spectrum of the problems rather than specifics about certain diseases.
The illustrations are quite good and the descriptions are very clear. This reviewer can find little with which to disagree with the authors, but there are some minor points which should be brought to the attention, particularly of the American readers. The authors use the Wassermann reaction, and in this country we are getting away from that and would prefer to use a specific test name since
