To the Editor:

Gross and Hashimoto, reporting on "Hereditary Urticaria Pigmentosa" in the October, 1964, issue of Archives of Dermatology, say that ". . . only two (reports) can be found describing the occurrence of this condition in closely related individuals." They have thus overlooked an instance of mother-daughter involvement which I reported in the February, 1963, ARCHIVES OF DERMATOLOGY.¹ They do not define "closely related individuals," but if this could be construed to mean siblings, then they further fail to reflect the several reported instances of such an event.² . . .
