Former Students Honor Dr. Barney Usher.—

Twenty dermatologists from across Canada and the United States paid tribute recently to one of their teachers, Dr. Barney Usher, of the Montreal General Hospital. Dr. Usher has been actively associated with the hospital for the past 40 years and has been one of the mainstays in the field of postgraduate training of dermatologists since this program was inaugurated in 1945.

On Oct 30, fifteen former students attended a dinner in his honor at the Naval Officers' Club in Montreal. The postgraduates presented him with a collection of letters from each of them, which was hand-bound in leather, and a wrist watch suitably inscribed. On this occasion, the hospital conferred on him the appointment of Consulting Dermatologist, which is unique in that it was the first time that such an appointment had been made by the hospital.
