To the Editor:
In a paper published in the ARCHIVES OF DERMATOLOGY (90:418-420 [Oct] 1964), Hitch states:
"The largest number of recorded patients treated with this drug for this disease is that in the cursory report of Leeming in which he is quoted as saying that the drug is effective especially in cases with multiple lesions."
This statement is possibly rather misleading, and I should explain that owing to the small amount of the drug available we tended to use it mainly in cases with multiple lesions which are not easily dealt with by local treatment. In fact in our relatively small series we found no obvious statistical difference between cases which showed a single track and multiple lesions. Since these results were published, further cases treated have confirmed our clinical observations, and while as yet we can hardly describe the evidence from these cases as conclusive, it seems, to
