This long-needed book is even better than I anticipated. Dr. Fisher was born to write this book. Few men could acquire such a storehouse of factual information and then organize it in writing for such ease of practical usage.
The contents are divided into 16 chapters, outstanding of which are "Hand Dermatitis Due to Contactants," "Dermatologic Hazards From `Newer' Synthetic Resins and Certain Solvents," and "Systemic Eczematous `Contact-type' Dermatitis Medicamentosa."
There is a 60-page index tabulating more than 500 contact allergens. The concentrations and vehicle for patch testing these contactants are presented, as are their source of exposure and cross-reacting substances.
The highlights and pearls are emphasized throughout each chapter in boxes.
It is difficult here to utilize Walt Whitman's thesis that we learn the most from those who dispute the passage, but I offer the following:
